The UK is prepared to move forward with utilizing the entire amount of seized Russian funds to bolster the Ukrainian war effort, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a joint statement, the heads of state of the UK, France, and Germany asserted that this coordinated action would increase strain on Russia's leader Vladimir Putin and persuade the Russian Federation to participate in talks.

They further noted that the move would be executed in strong partnership with the US.

British penalties have blocked in excess of £25bn of Russia's assets since Russia initiated its widespread offensive against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. However, up to this point, money provided to the Ukrainian government using Russian holdings had solely been taken from earnings and returns generated on them.

Sir Keir assured Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that the UK, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany were in agreement in their goal to push forward toward using the total worth of the frozen Russia's state holdings to end the war.

He added that additional restrictions soon would increase the strain on the Russian government.

This announcement is subsequent to European Union representatives met in the Danish capital recently to discuss utilizing frozen Russian holdings for a 140-billion-euro credit to the Ukrainian nation.

Last month, President Donald Trump encouraged G7 allies to take or otherwise use seized Russia's holdings, according to news outlets.

The value of frozen Russia's funds in the EU is estimated to be nearly €211bn.
