A charity drive is aiming to send a cultural melody to the Christmas number one spot. The effort aims to provide aid to people in Gaza while also showcasing Palestinian culture and creativity.

A Chance for Support and an "Surprise Victory"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a chance to stand with Palestinians this festive season. He noted the potential for an surprise number one.

“That would be amazing if that came to pass, yes,” he said. “I won't be completely disappointed if it doesn’t, holiday tracks are a category of their own.”

Powerful Theme of Self-Determination

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the reimagining of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's resilient spirit.

“It has a deeply meaningful spot for many individuals,” Barghouti shared. “The message is that I would choose to perish with honor than exist without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we want to live a respectful existence that we merit as a people.”

Production History and Star-Studded Lineup

The song was recorded in the wake of a solidarity show held in late summer. First conceived to be captured during the live event, the rendition was omitted from the lengthy event due to time constraints.

The notable list of performers featured on Lullaby encompasses a selection of acclaimed names from the industry. All took part in the earlier concert, which managed to collect a significant sum for charitable causes.

Production and Release

Lullaby was produced by a team of music creators. The track features a fusion of the heritage language with contemporary English verses.

The team running the project have stated that their aim is to collect the highest amount for a charitable pot. These donations will be channeled to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an non-profit partner.

“We don’t have a fixed goal,” a representative commented. “We aim for whatever we can get. Obviously, the greater the amount, the better. Every penny goes out to Gaza.”

The context in the area was characterized as its extreme devastation, with a huge proportion of property reportedly levelled or seriously harmed.

“Given that reality, a couple of million won't make that much difference. But I think the significant factor is primarily making this cause better known and proving that another narrative exists.”

The song is scheduled for release this Friday. Additionally, a complete film of the benefit event will be made accessible to view on a digital service from the 19th of December.
