Iran Reports Strike on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, As Part of Regional Retaliatory Strikes.

Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed operations throughout the Middle East in response for a "massive" and ongoing assault targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area close to the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any impact is not yet known and the US has yet to issue a statement.

Airspace Engagements

Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - which all house US military bases - reported they have shot down incoming projectiles in their air space.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the region.

IRGC Statement

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was attacking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the strikes on Iran launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.

That US-Israeli operation - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on sites linked to the the regime, with President Trump calling on the Iranian people to rise up against the government.

Regional Fallout

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems engaged the missiles with notable success and destroyed a series of missiles," it added.

It said debris landed in a residential area in Abu Dhabi, causing some property damage and fatalities.

The US Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
