Football Expert Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Murs in Top Flight Forecasts
Arsenal's 10-game victorious streak came to an end by the Black Cats prior to the international hiatus, but will the Premier League frontrunners recover against north London rivals Tottenham this Sunday?
"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," stated soccer specialist Chris Sutton.
"Frank will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this season - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still manage to win."
Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, versus AI, readers and a range of guests.
In the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.
Murs' latest album, the new release, is out on Friday.
Football and Parenting Life
Murs is a talented footballer as well as a accomplished artist and has been a star of multiple Soccer Aid games over time - but he is not intending a serious return as a player.
"{I actually played in a charity match the other evening for a friend of mine," he said. "My team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!
"I continue to love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.
"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or boy decides to play instead."
Murs and his spouse his partner have two children, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their manager.
"I won't push football on our children but I've already told my wife that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be managing their weekend football team," he added.
"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a period too.
"My dad coached with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I inherited it. He coached our side for two or three years and had great fun with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Premier League Forecasts
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their attack is now stronger with Pedro and Delap both back fit.
I still think this game will be fairly tight, though. The Clarets are well organised and their sole home defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.
This smells of a 1-1 draw to me, but I am actually going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.
Sutton's forecast: 1-2
The singer's pick: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have been defeated in their past two games - although both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.
In contrast, West Ham secured back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they do look competitive again.
The Hammers' only away win this season came at Nottingham Forest in August, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was still that team's coach.
Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - will it be West Ham continuing their run under Nuno, or the home side responding?
I will choose the Cherries, because I believe what happened against Villa was a anomaly.
Sutton's prediction: 2-0
Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under their boss. 2-2
AI's prediction: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were considered one of the favourites for the drop before the season began, but they have surprised a several observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three in their last four games.
My son told me to get Bees forward Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, guess what, I didn't listen.
Thiago will likely score again on the weekend but I am still not going to pick him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.
The Bees have not had much fortune on the road this term, and the Seagulls are always strong at their stadium. The visitors will try to hit them on the break but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a danger.
The analyst's forecast: 2-1
Olly's view: This could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a many scores but it in reality proves to be rather close. 1-1
AI's prediction: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a massive game for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.
Fulham have have lots of talent in their squad but it still feels like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.
As for the Black Cats, indeed they are the surprise package of the top flight season so far.
Their performance in the 2-2 tie with Arsenal last time out was superb. We've not seen anyone else disrupt the Gunners like that this term, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.
The logical choice would be to back the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of last month.
But I am not choose that. Rather, I truly need to carry on opposing Sunderland with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of credit for their good outcomes because they evidently enjoy to prove me wrong.
Considering Fulham's at Craven Cottage form, the only side they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's side will be extremely desperate for a positive result, so I am going to predict they will secure three much-needed points.
Sutton's prediction: 1-0
The guest's prediction: I'm aware Sunderland are doing well and also that Fulham are on a poor streak... but they have still been respectable at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0
The algorithm's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a tough one to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their past 10 games in every tournament, but could they be among the teams who benefit from the {international break|
