American entertainer Pat Finn, who was seen in iconic programs such as "Friends", "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has passed away aged 60.

The comedy and improvisation performer died at home in LA recently after undergoing treatment for cancer since 2022, per media reports.

"He considered no one a stranger - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his family stated in a announcement.

They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".

A Notable Career on Screen

Finn's first television role was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.

He subsequently landed a regular part on "Murphy Brown" in the latter half of the 1990s.

He appeared as the character Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in the late 90s, portraying a party host known to delegate tedious tasks to his guests.

In the late 1990s and early 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of popular shows, including:

  • "King of Queens"
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • House

Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight series between 2011 and 2018.

His cinematic roles include It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).

Off-Screen Life

Away from his television work, Finn was an improv performer and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.

He was involved with a six-person improv troupe named "Beer Shark Mice".

"Pat guided, supported, and advised many learners throughout the years and it would be difficult to find anyone anyplace who has a bad thing to say about him," his relatives stated.

Paying homage, fellow actor Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, grounded individual you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A great dad, a great guy," he shared publicly.

Finn is leaves behind his spouse Donna, his three kids, and his family.
